"Now more than ever, it is crucial for leaders to hear and respond to the diverse challenges faced by people across the globe." (WEF, 2016)
Stand up to Mental Health Stigma
If you follow me on twitter you may be aware that I am currently involved with an event run by the Future Leaders Club. I have been asked to participate as a guest speaker at the AddVentureMind Weekend in November. This is an opportunity I am really excited about and I wanted to share it with you and give you the chance to join in and have your say too!
The AddVentureMind Weekend aims to come up with solutions to tackle and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. It will be a great opportunity to meet and learn from other people, and to share ideas on how the stigma can be reduced. Mental health stigma stops people from talking about mental health; is prevents people asking for help as they are scared of what others will think, or of facing discrimination. As many as 1 in 4 people experience mental health problems yet there is still a stigma surrounding it.
I feel so honoured to be involved with this project as I feel it is such an important issue to address. So many people are affected by this and with this you can get involved and show your support too!
The event is free to attend and you can get tickets by following this link.
However, even if you are unable to attend the event, you can still get involved! I will be blogging and posting on Twitter over the AddVentureMind Weekend so you can keep up to date with what’s going on.
I would love to know your thoughts and ideas on the subject, and I can propose these ideas for you at the event to share an even broader opinion. Please comment, tweet, or use the contact page if you would like to share ideas, I would really love to know your thoughts!
